Things I don't understand...........

This post is dedicated to(as the title implies) 'things I don't understand', such as:

.......Why is their such a reverence for the dead? Why are people treated with more respect after they are dead than when they are alive?? You can call a person anything you want, criticize them, villianize them, slander them, anything you want if they are alive, but if that same person was to die, NOW your a prick and you have to be respectful of them. Of course the reason I mention this is the backlash from readers of the "Award Winning" 'Rants & Raves' by David Burcham. This is the quote that caused the uproar:

"Thinking of Kevin Von Erich reminds me of his brother Kerry’s suicide. Kerry did this being totally inconsiderate of the torture and anguish already suffered by Fritz, Doris, and Kevin due to the deaths of four other Von Erich brothers (two of which were also suicide). Not to mention Kerry’s own children who were depending on him. Fuck Kerry Von Erich. He’s just another dead junkie."

Now is this a nice thing to say? No, it's not. Is it a true statement? For the most part, yes. Yes the Von Erich family had been through countless tragedies, Kerry had seen what it did to him and his family, why would he put them and more importantly his own daughters through that, it was a very selfish thoughtless act. As for him being a junkie if you do some reading and watch some of the shoot interviews of NUMEROUS wrestlers who were asked about him, Kerry was strung out on something nearly all the time. There are tons of stories of his drugged out antics. Now I'm not saying I totally blame him for being a junkie for the majority of his career the man wrestled without a foot.........yes read that again, HE WRESTLED WITHOUT A FUCKING FOOT!! And the thing is no one really knew about it til after he died. But with as many wrestlers with both feet as there has been who did drugs to get by, you have to think wrestling without a foot might require a little something to get through, which leads to more, and more and more. Anyway, regardless of how you feel personally whether he was right or wrong to kill himself, or whether you feel David was right or wrong for what he said, it's his opinion and he's entitled to it. Why would you stop reading his column, or brand him a bad person just because he voiced an opinion about something that people seem to be touchy about for some reason. If wrote in his column, "Fuck Sean Waltman, he's a useless junkie." No one would have a problem with that, BUT if Sean Waltman o.d.'d and died and Burcham, said "Fuck Sean Waltman, he's another dead junkie." Everyone would shit themselves, even though both statements are about the same person and the same aspect of that person. What makes it different when the person is dead?? Oh well........

......why the hell did WWE turn Chavo Guerrero (who had finally somewhat gotten over on Smackdown at one point) into the stupid ass Kerwin White character??? This shit reaks of the Russo/Ferrera "Powers that Be" era of WCW, it totally sucks.

......why doesn't anyone want anyone else to succeed on the indies. Whenever things start to go good for someone(they get booked on a big show, work with a name, get a good payday) everyone starts to shit on them and get jealous. People should realize everytime one of the "locals" gets some recognition, it's good for everyone. If they manage to make a name for themselves, it means that much more when you work with them, and if you have a good match with them and word gets around then maybe YOU will get booked on some of these big shows or television your so jealous of. But that will never happen, you can't change people's nature. I'm sure this one cuts a little to close to the bone for a number of people, and if you think I'm talking about YOU then I probably am.

........why WWE honestly thinks I would buy a PPV to see Steve Austin wrestle the fucking Coach!?!? The Linda McMahon "turn" was pointless and it's really sad that most of the people they are having to bring back to boost ratings are either retired or seim-retired.

...............why Paul Heyman isn't head booker for Raw or Smackdown. I recently got in the Ohio Valley tv, he's been booking since he got there and it's awesome. Nothing against Jim Cornette, I like him, but you can really tell a difference with Heyman booking. The way he took something awful like Matt Cappatelli breaking his leg right as he was about to be called up to the WWE, and did a tremendous angle with his partner Johnny Jeter turning on him creating an angle that kept Cappatelli on tv and in the spotlight the 10 weeks he was out with the broken leg, and turning Jeter into a severly hated OVW Champion, and getting both me over more than they were before. The great thing is, he isn't turning it in to ECW Part 2, but you can see his influence in the promos and angles and using people to their fullest potential. Hopefully, WWE will realize they need him to get the ratings up. I think he could he really get a lot of the guys over that are talented yet floundering with the current writing team

I have a lot more but I'll leave at this for now. Check back soon, thanks for reading.
