NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling Results from 6/5/11

Results from this weekend......

NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling Results 6/5/2011
by Daniel Lee Lumm

Pre-Event:

Kyle Matthews was the one to come out and sign autographs and take pictures this week. This marks 2 consecutive events where a NWA RPW star came out of their way for autographs signings before a show. AJ Steele came out as well as he normally tends to as of late.
Upon letting the fans in, it was nice to notice some nifty upgrades to the Rampage Arena including a new teletron (just an HD TV, but still amazing) and a new camera tower for better shots. It seems the area previously being used for the camera and announcer's table (as that too has been moved closer) is being altered. Hopefully more NWA RPW items will be placed in the space (I personally am pulling for seats so they can pull the ring farther out for a better entrance way). The only let down with the new items was the tron was only connected to the tower camera, leaving the running cam (which goes backstage for certain segments) out of the mix. Promos also aren't displayed on the tron leaving those excluded from the attending viewers until the show is put up on broadcast. Don't get me wrong, the tron is still a great addition to the arena.
Ben Masters comes out to get the crowd hyped like usual. He made it a point (and for his effort, I'll help make the point here) that ANY fathers who attend (paid entry) NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling's Father's Day show on the 19th will get a FREE RPW event DVD. These DVDs are sold for $15 a piece so paying for a ticket to get a DVD is a great deal. He goes on to introduce Miss Allie to kick off the event.

"Adorable" Anthony Andrews vs "Marvelous" Michael Stevens

Prior to the match, Andrews stated that since he was facing a Mexican (Tigre Guerrero) last week he was expecting all pinfalls to be counted in Spanish, and therefor Tigre's pin over him was not legitimate and he remains undefeated.
When Stevens came out he quickly got the crowd behind him by getting them to repeatedly call Andrews a Loser. The match had good athleticism on behalf of both competitors but Andrews took advantage of a distracted referee to hit Marv with his trophy. He picked up the pin but his celebration was interrupted by a security guard (Chris Jacobs) who informed the referee of his illegal use of the trophy. The referee promptly reversed the decision and ruled that Marv won by disqualification. This marks Andrew's second singles loss, his first in an "American rules" match.

Result: "Marvelous" Michael Stevens wins via Disqualification at 5:43

Bobby Moore vs Drew Adler

Moore came in accompanied by Charlie Cash. The match went back and forth with Cash getting involved at a couple of points. He got on the apron to prevent a pinfall count when Drew had the advantage. Adler got up to intimidate Charlie Cash and Moore capitalized.

Result: Bobby Moore wins via Pinfall at 7:41

NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Match

Bull Buchanon (C) vs Luke Gallows

This match was surprisingly early on the card. Most of the match was spent with them both trying to prove they were the stronger man. Bull had more support from the crowd by a small amount likely due to him being a regular with NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling. Early in the match a comment was thrown at Gallows that seemed to grate on his nerves, as he nearly left the ring in a threatening manner towards the crowd member. During the last couple of minutes of the match, Charlie Cash and his Cash Vault members came to ring side to give moral support to Gallows. The match finished clean with Bull landing his and catching the pinAfter the match Adonis, Moore, and Cash got into the ring telling Gallows that they told him before (I assume in a promo backstage that will be shown with the broadcast) that Bull is a cheater and that he should join Cash Vault and help them eliminate Buchanon while he was alone in the ring. Gallows appeared to agree just to turn and attack the Cash Vault members. In the end Buchanon and Gallows were the only one left in the ring, where Gallows put Bull over to the fans.

Result: Bull Buchanon wins via Pinfall at 9:39 to retain the NWA RPW Heavyweight Title

Sal Rinauro vs Frankie Valentine

This match spent a majority of its time in submission holds and name calling. In the end Jeremy Vain and Doug Somers came to ringside. Somers got on the apron to distract the referee while Vain went in and landed a DDT. They both get away from the ring for Rinauro to pick up the pin.

Result: Sal Rinauro wins via Pinfall at 8:18

Chip Day vs J-Rod

This match is a revision to the card likely due to Lance Christian not being in attendance. Chip Day received the usual nickname chants from the crowd. J-Rod and Chip did a lot of kick exchanges (since both tend to specialize in them) and the match was actually highly aggressive. In the end it was J-Rod to pick up the win, prompting the arrival of Jimmy Rave and his Approved members to the ring. Rave offered J-Rod a spot in the group while the other members surrounded him (but acted as if they had no intentions of attacking him). After taking time to contemplate (or stall) Kyle Matthews stormed the ring. The Approved members all made a quick escape leaving Matthews (now sporting a new hair style) and J-Rod left to celebrate.

Result: J-Rod wins via Pinfall at 7:04

Mike Posey vs Kyle Matthews

This match marks Posey's return from about 3 weeks of absence from NWA RPW. This match remained very technical while keeping at a fast pace at many intervals. Jimmy Rave ended up coming out to distract the referee and Matthews while he had the upper hand over Posey. Posey capitalized with a low blow and the referee took notice in the match again just in time to count the pinfall.

Result: Mike Posey wins via Pinfall at 11:27

Drew Adler vs "Untouchable" Jeremy Vain (non-title match)

This match was revised likely due to Jimmy Da Kid not being in attendance. For once the dirty tactics Vain has become known for were used against him. During the match Valentine came to ringside to give a distraction after Drew was hit with a DDT. By the time Vain disregarded Valentine and turned his attention back to Drew, the tide had turned and Drew rolled him up for a victory.

Result: Drew Adler wins via Pinfall at 7:38\

NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship Match (Undisputed Tournament Final)

Jimmy Rave Approved (Chip Day / Corey Hollis) vs Hot Like Lava (Shaun Banks / Cru Jones)

Hot Like Lava received the support of the crowd against the more disliked Jimmy Rave Approved members. They ended up feeding off the crowd and playing like Faces through the length of the match. Chip Day constantly yelled at the crowd about how they've been "booing these guys for months" just to cheer for them now. A majority of the match was spent with Day and Hollis utilizing constant tags and holds to wear down Shaun Banks while Cru was left watching from his corner. Eventually Shaun start gaining just enough momentum to make a hot tag to Cru to completely shift the flow of the match in favor of Hot Like Lava. A few minutes later chaos broke out in the ring (like usual) and in the end Hot Like Lava picked up the victory to become the undisputed NWA RPW Tag Team Champions. This was the longest and quite possibly the most entertaining match of the night.

Result: Hot Like Lava wins (Banks pinning Hollis) at 13:33 to be crowned the NEW NWA RPW Tag Team Champions

NWA Rampage Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship Match

Hot Like Lava (Shaun Banks / Cru Jones) vs Usual Suspects (Murder One / AJ Steele)

The Usual Suspects rushed the ring to challenge Hot Like Lava to a title match. Cru acted like a Face by referring to the crowd asking if they wanted to see a title defense. After hearing the response he agrees to the match. Once the bell rings Hot Like Lava go back to their classic Heel tactics by simply leaving the ring to get counted out. Since they lost from a count out, they still kept the Tag Titles.

Result: Usual Suspects win via Count Out at 0:42, Hot Like Lava retain the NWA RPW Tag Team Titles
